how sensitive are the blood tests that give just a negative or positive?

are they as sensitive as early home pregnancy tests?

5 days ago had a predictor test come positive. took 3 of them but last night had blood test and it was negative. I am not having bleeding but have brown discarge if I wipe
I know that blood tests are more accurate but I have also heard that the positve/negative ones are not always more sensitive
 
My doctor told me that the ones that test positive or negative are no more sensitive than the HPTs. There is another one that measures exactly how much of the pregnancy hormone is in your blood. That one is more sensitive.
