2009 bike... that would be a new one.. so how reliable is it.. I will tell you in a few years time... Im not psychic

... It's true Ducati has come a long way. And are no where near has bad as they used to be. But it's still a Ducati. Even With their less maintenance they still need 4x+ the attention than any of the Japanese bikes. And don’t be trying to do any wheelie's because of the L twin design. Don’t get me wrong I love Ducati's motor's. They make incredible power and feel great to rip on. The sound alone could make you want one.

So to answer your question yes they are better but no they are still not reliable. Its the cold hard truth. IF they could lower the cost of the bike more it might be worth it, but as it stands They just aren’t quit their yet.

On a side note : For a company still making engines with dry clutches, timing belt / push rods, and air-cooled engines. What can you expect?

(You need to do the timing belts ALLOT more than just once every two years. It's more like 2x a year. And I dident say it cant do wheelies. I just wouldent. Because you can easly blow the seal and than you would be stuck needing to rebuild the top end.)

very reliable and with the new maintainence schedules a lot cheaper to service too

There is a saying, Ducati lust is cured by Ducati ownership.....never owned one, just repeating what others say......

Anything high performance is high maintenance. That goes for cars, motorcycles, boats....whatever mechanical, if it is pushed to its limits it is prone to break more often, and Ducati is very high performance.

Extremely reliable. They have that price tag for a reason. you just have to do the timing belts every two years but thats just to keep everything running smooth. i have a 2001 monster s4 and it has never given me any problem. The onlt thing when you start one you have to be sure that the fuel light turns off or you can blow your lower seal (oops :( i paid for that one but other than those i think there amazing and am thinking of selling for a new one....Oh and they do wheelie...real good. hahaha

I'm with the last guy. It's a 2009. In 5 years you will be able to answer it yourself if you get one. Until then? Your guess is as good as anyone's.
