how realistic is it that a man can't finish sex?

my boyfriend cheated on me,per say with his questionable ex-wife. about 10 months ago he says it started but he couldn't finish it. he said they were in the bathroom of a friends house and she led him in there, initiated it and it began, but he couldn't "finish". said he felt horrible about it and that's what stopped it. he also said he wore a condom. ok. how many buy this story?

people always lie in that situation to better them selfs, and it dosent matter who led who where and who started what and if he finished or not HE STILL DID IT!

it happens sometimes, do I believe the guy? probably not. how old is he, was he drinking, feel guilty? all these kinds of things come into play with the old boy downstairs.
 
It's possible that his story is true. He may still have some feelings for her even though their relationship is over and it just felt natural to go for it at the time but once he started it felt wrong and he lost his resolve so to speak.
