How often a car's cam belt needs replacing?

The cost of maintaining a car can be reasonably sky-high because of every single parts that come with an engine like the timing belt also called cam belt.I've got a used Honda and I actually make every effort to keep my car in great shape since it's all I have at the moment.
If I could afford,I would take my car to a garage and tell the mechanic; look,I want an inspection of the whole engine and anything that needs fixing I pay for it.

READ your owner's manual, or call the Honda dealer. They won't lie to you. Most Honda's require a cam belt change every 100,000 miles. Some require it at 60,000 miles. If you are really concerned, find a library that carries the ALLDATA data base, and look this up under "maintenance". You will learn bundles by doing this, since this is the most comprehensive data base around. GET SMART, and use only synthetic oil in your pride and joy. You will save money in the long haul because you only need to change it once yearly, and the insides of your expensive engine wil get continually cleaned instead of continually sludged up. If you call around, you should be able to find a competent garage or auto store that gives a free belt inspection. Make SURE that they show you in person what they find. Good luck!!
