How much would it cost to switch from motorola droid to Verizon iphone?

I was wondering how much it would cost to switch from my current droid to the new iphone 4 that is coming out for Verizon? I don't have an upgrade for my plan however. I wasnt sure if I could just buy the 200 dollar iphone at apple then pay the early termination fee for my current phone? I dont really understand how it works. Thanks
