A facility- some people convert a garage or room in their house, but you have to check zoning laws and get a small business license and whatnot. Your other options are buying/renting commercial space, or buying/leasing a mobile salon.

Unless you're going to open a large salon and hire several other groomers, it's typically not worth it to open your own business. Most one-person grooming businesses go under quickly because one groomer typically cannot bring in enough money to pay the bills and still make a profit.
