How much would it cost to get a 350 chevy motor rebuilt?

I have a 81'Chevy c 10 that i bought for the motor but its starting to go down hill so i want to have it rebuilt, the rings are bad and a couple other things too, but to avoid any other problems i just want to get the whole thing rebuilt but i dint want to be jibbed with an over priced bill,so anybody have any advice on what i should be looking at as far as the bill?
