subframe or it would chew the tire He's tellin me its gonna cost 1500-2000 depending on the type of frame I want its a 2000 Dodge Intrepid ES 3.2, if any of you are overly dedicated helpers, I'll give you the number of the bodyshop and you can ask the guy about it, My Name is Bruce livingston and I have the only intrepid at the frame shop...the shop is called Kittanning Collision Services, ask for the guy in charge of working on my car, I told him I just want it runnable, tell him your a relative or something, cause I know nothing about cars and don't understand what he says, the warranty and insurance is not an option, I just want to find out exactly whats wrong and if the price he is asking is too much...The number for the frame shop is 724-545-1748, thanks if you are able to save me some money on this I may compensate you as well, cause as of now i can barely afford this, thanks guys
it was in an accident ran off the road into an enbankment think I may have hit a rock the tire was completely flat after driving about a mile, had it towed to a mechanic but said it needed to be taken to a frame shop, I had no insurance at the time because it had just been cancelled because I hadn't been able to afford it, and thought I'd rather drive without insurance than miss a car payment, the car has a warranty through a company other than the factory, but this happened a while ago and I was intoxicated when it happened

If it is bent or damaged then replace the subframe.... any good local salvage yard should be able to find one for you. If this subframe is bent it can cause all kinds of problems, including excessive or unusual wear of tires, steering geometry resulting in an ill handling vehicle and drivetrain vibrations. If it is the actual structure that the subframe attaches to then get it to a GOOD body shop... look for training certificates displayed that say ICAR and evidence of continuing education in the shop. If it is the structure then there are some very black and white rules about what can and cannot be done to the damage.

You give lots of information, but still need more. Was the subframe damaged in an accident? They don't just bend by themselves. Therefore, why would it not be covered by insurance? Now if you bought the car used, you just found out it has been wrecked previously. If purchased recently, you may have some recourse for non-disclosure of a prior accident. Please post why the subframe needs to be replaced and if you have been in a wreck. We can then try to assist you.
