How much would a 1982 Jeep Wrangler cost?

My boyfriend is wanting a car (preferably a Jeep Wrangler) and my mom and I accidentally came across one while we were going from dealership to dealership. It was just sitting in front of someone's house for sale and all it said was the year. (We figured they can't afford a phone or something, so we'll have to knock on their door to ask). My mom wants me to take my boyfriend and his brother out there to look at it and ask about it (in case the people are scary..lol). But before we go all the way out there to ask, does anyone have any idea how much it would cost, considering the internal workings are all decent? The exterior looks nice except it needs new tires and the interior looks good, kinda vintage, which is cool. 1982 red-orange Jeep Wrangler
 
No way to estimate their asking price, many people have outrageous ideas about what their stuff is worth. So it could be $500 or $5000. If it's an 82 it's a CJ not a Wrangler, probably a CJ-7. Big thing to look out for is rot on the frame and body mounts, look closely at the rear framerails. It's rare to find one that's not rotted.
 
I would assume you are reffering to a CJ5, in good shape (without extensive modifications) should run 2,500- 4,000. The body is what really fetches the penny on these, a less then desirable body with a good engine should be 2000-3000 but really it depends on the market for them... Its carbarated so expect to be monkeying around with it and a bit more maintenance then usual. There classics so expect to pay a decent bit...
