I am trying to update my resume right now, but I am not sure exactly what to do. I'm trying to keep my resume limited to a page, but I'm not sure what to take out. The thing that is pushing me over the 1 page mark is some job experience from when I was in high school. I worked as a lifeguard all through high school and I worked for many different companies, so to write it all out takes up a lot of space. My more recent job experience has been very relevant to future career and would actually matter to potential employers. Lifeguarding is in no way related to my future career, so I'm wondering if I have to have it on my resume. I've heard that you're supposed to have 10 years of job history on a resume which is why I've kept it on there, but if I want to limit my resume to a page, I either need to delete the lifeguard work experience or I need to delete my awards section of my resume. I'm not sure what to do.
