there is 3 problems with the car that needs welding apparently. nearside and frontside gaiter insecurely mounted to housing and also offside vehicle stucture is damaged affecting its strength within 30cm of body mountings. thats what it says on my mot thing i got back. If anyone has a clue i ould greatly appreciate info. my car is a corsa sxi and is only a 54 plate.
oh also thanks, my mot is fine apart from the welding. it passes after that job. im just hoping it aint too big a job. i dont think welding is usually.
thanks for the comments so far. i cant really take it elsewhere as its mid mot. everywhere is shut here now til monday when mot is out of date. thats why i go on monday to get it sorted. for the age of my car tho im amazed this can happen. i will be taking it up with my own garage.

welding on a 54 plate bloody hell !!!! depends really how long the job is going to take,, and how much an hour the garage you will be taking it to charge an hour garage i take it to charge £ 40 an hour !!
i had two large parts of the chassis welded at the back end of my car and it cost me £120 !!!!

My best advise is to shop around m8.

IF you can afford to,just replace vehicle..FEEL the welding won't be a problem, getting the certification, to satisfy the MOT will be the expensive part. You know what these,Goddamn
bureaucrats,are like i'm sure??
Happy motoring..Stay well & happy..Best wishes to you..

just drive into a garage and show them the failure. it should only take a couple of minutes for them to assess it. if you dont like the price just tell them youll ring if you decide to go ahead and go to another garage.
