How much will my Army pay be after all deductions are taken out?

I just enlisted into the army as an E-2 and I'm married with one child. I wanna know an estimate of my pay before I go in. One of my buddy (E-2) only makes 500 a month. He has no dependents and lives on base. I know that I'm suppose to get 1222 for BAS.

BAS is eating allowance so you will not get that while in Basic and during AIT it will be taken out when you eat in the Mess.

You are probably talking about BAH which is housing allowance. BAH is for rent & utilities. It is going to be based on the zip code you resided at when you enlisted while at Basic. If AIT is accompanied (over 21 weeks) then it will change to that zip code. If not then it stays the same. When you get your first orders if they are accompanied then it changes to where you are based. BAH w/dependents doesn't matter if there is 1 or 20 it is based on the Rank and zip code.

E2 pay is more than $500 a month, more around $500 a payday, probably closer to $550 a payday or even $600. Then with BAH for the area it would be $1100. Plus add in FSA, Family Separation of $250 while you are in Basic and AIT that means you would get around $2400 a month.

Family separation is paid when you are gone longer than 30 days on orders for Basic, school, TAD, TDY and deployment.
