I just bought a used 1997 Chrysler Sebring and it failed the smog test. I took it into the mechanic and he said that I need a new catalytic converter. About how much will this cost to fix?
Two hundred dollars or so. Auto Zone has the converter for $85 and it shouldn't cost more than $100-150 to have it installed. If the mechanic wants more than $300 with him supplying the converter then go to another mechanic.
