how much will a new clutch cost for a '03 Honda VT750 (Shadow Spirit)?

My clutch seems to be on it's way out, and I'm just trying to figure out how much approx. it will cost to replace.
It's a 2003 Honda Shadow Spirit 750.

A heck of a lot cheaper than a car clutch, and if you are mechanically inclined, you can more than likely do the job at home with the service manual. The Honda parts dept will have a price for parts. By the way, you didn't put car oil in the crankcase did you? If the oil is slicker than what's supposed to be in there that clutch will slip forever.

Make sure to adjust enough freeplay on the clutch cable before you start shelling out money.

Depends on what is wrong exactly and causing the clutch to slip bad.

If it is the clutch plates-they should cost about $130 for a set
If it is the clutch discs they should cost about $25 each
If a spring is bad-that should cost around $10 each

Then add the cost of 3.5 quarts of oil.

Now if you want to pay someone on top of that, figure about 3 hours time start to finish to get the job done. Average shop cost in the US $70/hr.
