how much will a adult bicycle, bike carrier, and the lock cost in total?

I need a bike to get from my car to university and back (so I don't have to pay 200$s for a pass every semester) how much does a simple bike, it's carrier for a car and the lock thing cost>? (the cheapest option)..

the car is too small to fit the bike... and university isn't that close to my house to just ride there
