How much weight can a 98 Chevy S10 pickup (2.2 litre) haul?

I've filled the 6' bed many times with a single scoop of mulch - a little heavy but no real problem. I want to get top soil though - will putting a scoop of top soil in immobilize me and be a shock-squasher? Thanks.
