I just bought a 1993 volvo 240 Sedan, the car is in very good condition...except for the transmission. (i knew about problem before buying but i got it for dirt cheap because of it) The transmission slips a lot randomly, i know its the transmission because i had it diagnosed from a friend whos a car mechanic. He said i should have it fixed, so i'm wondering how much will it cost to fix a car with a slipping transmission?
Aside from it being annoying as it is, is it safe to drive in the meantime until i can find a way to fix it or a new one?
My friend said he would install it for me if I could find one, but I don't know where to look (i checked google) but if I went to a pro how much would it cost
