How much should my hourly rate be as a PHP programmer?

I have less than 2 years of PHP experience. I'm able to make a simple website from scratch to finish all by myself. I also use a database. What do you think is a competitive hourly rate for someone like me, a beginner PHP programmer? This is going to be a long term employment, not per project or other terms. Thank you!

For regular projects it would be $50 an hour, but long term employment would probably be around $20 - $30 an hour.

You should probably avoid long term employment untill you got 2 years and are fairly confident and in demand. That way you can charge more for long term. Kind of hard to justify a long term contract and say i need more money when you already placed the contract. Or you should have a clause in your contract salary will be negotiated every 6 months, something along those lines. So you don't get screwed over in the end.

But to get a better scope is, you should check out these 2 articles. Especially the calculator
