how much should it cost to replace 3 engine and 1 transmission mounts on 01 honda...

...civic ex? i just had my struts replaced and the mechanic told me that 3 engine mounts and 1 transmission mount was loose. so i was wondering what might cause this to happen and how much it would cost to fix. the mechanic quoted me $582. thank you
 
about the only thing that could cause that is beating the car. that isn't exactly normal wear and tear for a honda. bare minimum to fix would be the cost of the mounts which you can find out at any parts store like autozone. changing them isn't extremely difficult but you should know how to properly jack and suspend a car since the car has to be raised to change two of the engine mounts and the tranny mount.
