I'm 19 years old, a sophomore in college, just got home for winter break yesterday and I'm going back on January 15th. I played competitive ice hockey since I was 8 years old, but I stopped playing at the end on senior year of high school because I wasn't good enough to play on my college's team. Over the course of the past year and half or so, I have gain weight, but not freshman 15 or sophomore 20. Mainly the reason being is that since my body was so used to skating 3-4 times a week, my metabolism was really good but now its just normal. I don't go to the gym because I never did since I skated so many times a week. Anyway, I'm currently 170 pounds and 5'9". I know that coming from a hockey player, that doesn't sound bad, but when I'm in shape like I was in high school I was more like 160-165 pounds and much more toned in the stomach. I have gained fat mainly in my belly, butt, and thighs. By the time I get back to school, I want most of that gone. I plan on riding my bike everyday until I go back. I don't have any breathing problems or anything like that so I could do extensive amounts of riding a day. How many miles/how long should I ride my bike a day to many lose at least 85-90% of the fat I gained and just tone it more.
