How much should I charge for my new home catering business?

I am considering starting a home catering business with my wife but we are not sure what we should charge or how we should offer our service.

Should we charge per meal or by days worth of meals and how much should we charge?
 
Please do research elsewhere. This site is full of kids, stay at home moms, and drunks (like me). You really don't want our advice. Try calling other catering places and getting their rates.
 
Do a bit of web research , I know restaurateurs use a simple formula to work out their charges , cost of ingredients multiplied by X and add Y if you are what I mean.

I'm sure there would be something similar for catering to take into account the different overheads.

Don't guess at stuff like this you need to get it right and be competitive and professional.
