How much money would the U.S lose if we switched 2 solar energy?

if we switched to solar power 4 everything how much money would it cost and how many years would it take to pay it off
 
It is not as much about loosing money as it is reducing our standard of living. Standard of living is ultimately determined by the cost of living versus what our individual wages are. If energy prices went up 300%, the effects would be rather striking because all prices would increase as a result.

In short... Solar energy is not a viable option as long as petroleum reserves are so plentiful. Most are expecting that we will shift to natural gas before solar energy because viable..

it might cost billions maybe trillions, since it's new technology. It might take a few years. I heard that it might take till 2012 or more or less. I hope this helps! ;)
