How much money did TMNT cost 4kids to produce?

If you add the production costs of all 155 episodes, the Turtles Forever movie, the short brief clips like "Monster Island" and Turtle profiles, all the commercial adverts, the salaries for the voice actors, animatiors, directions, writers, etc.

How much did TMNT cost 4kids in total? They only got $10 million from Nick for selling it, yet did that cover their expenses?

I am sure it and all the profits Mirage shared with them helped. 4kids made enough money to call it a profit, unlike Chaotic. I would say it made about 1/4 that of Yugioh card sales per the time it was out.

I'd have to imagine it cost 4kids a lot money to fund TMNT for as long as they did but they got merchandise profits which surely helped cover the costs.

But at this point it doesn't really matter since TMNT has a new home and 4kids is still alive and ticking.

Shows end, friend. It's part of life. At least the 4Kids series ended on a high note and had a proper ending, not a sudden, uncertain ending like the final episode of The Sopran---. But there will always be reruns.

No, he still has animosity that 4kids is still around.

Cyber, Chaotic was the most expensive thing 4kids ever did, and it cost them tons, so much that it should be over soon. The card game and all (sad really, but as far as cards go ... YGO wins all). 4kids future is Yugioh, and in Japan, ratings are on the rise again.

But Chaotic wasn't around for as long as TMNT was, so how could it cost them more overall?

TMNT was around from 2003-2009, Chaotic only lasted 2 years or so.

TMNT had also more expensive animation than Chaotic did, which had flash for the beginning.

Did the card game really cost that much? It should have tanked 4kids along with it then.

I'm not sure if Chaotic really was more expensive for them to produce than TMNT, but I wouldn't be surprised if managing and creating the cards put a toll on 4Kids' expenses. Even though the card game didn't do well, 4Kids still has other properties that continue to produce revenue for them, so the game failing, while still resulting in a big lost for the company, wasn't as serve enough to actually cause 4Kids to close down.

TMNT probably got cheaper to produce in the later seasons when they streamlined some things and lowered the quality of the animation.

Chaotic started out with pretty pathetic animation but eventually got more money poured into the production but 4kids owned that one outright and thus completely foot the bill for everything while with TMNT they didn't have to cover all the costs (and likewise didn't receive all the profits).

I'd have to imagine TMNT was the most expensive show for them to produce at least for 4 seasons and then when they put their funding towards Chaotic TMNT got a lot less money behind it.

Not really sure which one cost 4kids more for their entire runs and marketing to go along with them but apparently neither were too much for the company to not survive.

So what's your real question here Cyber? You wanna know if 4kids didn't get paid enough for their stake in TMNT? It's entirely possible but it doesn't really matter either way. They're still around and TMNT will continue to be an evergreen brand in Nickelodeon's hands.
