I'm writing a story, and in it, there's a lot of pollution coming from coal-fired power plants in the area and it's causing the fish to have high levels of mercury in them as well as producing aerosols that keep the environment extremely warm. How much mercury is harmful for human and marine life? Also, would it cause much erosion on beach shores? What kind of pH would the water have with such levels of mercury in them?
