ive never adjusted the valves on my 4-runner and ive got 170k miles. i heard that this engine uses shims to adjust the valves. also my valve cover gasket is leaking on the left bank and i was wondering how hard it is to change the valve cover gasket. just looking at it looks like a difficult job.
