How much is a Suzuki GS 450 GAD worth?

28K , pretty decent condition, runs, but trouble starting, think it's just an issue with the battery

some issues getting it started, was told it was the battery from being stored so long.
 
You did not mention the year of manufactor. Without that it is impossible to say exactly how much it is worth. you could try www.kbb.com (kelly blue book) as they are the "bible" for used vehicle prices.

Off the top of my head if the bike is in good mechanical conditon with no starting issues and no known charging system problems, and has the usual nicks and scratches I would expect on a bike from the early 80's I would say $800-$1000
