How much is a 1980 Harley Davidson FXS Shovelhead Lowrider worth?

I am looking at buying one of these, and I've sen prices between $6000 and $8000. It has 26,000 miles. These prices seem high for a 28 year old bike, but they are all like this. Is this a special version or something?
 
I'm with John on this one.8k would have to be a sweet example of a Shovel.but that's about the going price for a good one.And like OSB said it's still a youngster.My 56 Panhead just came of age lol.I want to mate it with a 47 Knuck and see what we get!
