do to get the power? How much horsepower can I get out of a Chevy 305. And if you know, what mods would I need to do to get the the 305s max. Thank you for your time and your help. Thanks, Justin
 
Best would be to sell it and get a performance engine. Probably $3000 will get you a pretty hot 350. You could spend a fortune and get 2000 hp out of your 305 but it would cost about $85,000 and it would last maybe 2 minutes. If you would just like a reasonable increase in power, ask that. A 305 can easily make 300 hp.
 
Your biggest increases in horse power will come from increased compression----> Polished or Custom Heads, Pistons, roller rockers, etc.etc.....Next I recommend fuel intake mods---------> Upper and Lower Intake, larger throttle body or Carb., larger fuel injectors......and to follow this mods. you may want to go to Blower or a TurboCharger----------.>Given all this is done, you should be able to get her in the 500hp range
 
Toss it in the trash.

You can spend a lot of time, a lot of money, and get some decent power out of it.

And then you could also sell it, buy a 350; put 1/3rd the amount of time and money in it, and have a more powerful engine.

The 305 isn't bad. But if you want max of anything, it's not the engine to go with.
