My family now has three dogs. On occasion, I take my 5 year old lab on a three mile trek (around my block and down then mountain. Then back up) however she is rather calm so it is mostly due for exercise. However, we just got a Jack Russel (for about 2 weeks) and he is very hyper. We try to tire him out with lots of playing and toys but I was wondering how much outdoor exercise should he have right now? How about when is older?

Also, his breath is really bad. But the vet (which we visited today) did not mention anything wrong with his mouth. When my lab was a puppy her breath smelled like puppy breath, but his is a lot worse. What can I do about it? (He's on puppy chow right now. But when he gets older he'll be on Old Roy or Pedigree -depends on which we buy for that time being-)
Can you recommend any other type of dog food?
