F football5680 New member Jul 6, 2010 #2 a plate is 45 pounds. if they say they couldn't bench a plate that means they couldn't bench 135. how you get that weight is because you need 2 plates to put on each side so that equals 90 and the bar weights 45 so together that is 135.
