How much does meat weigh if cooked vs raw?

As an average figure 4 ounces lost during cooking for every 16 ounces of meat.

While it does depend on 1) the amount of fat or leanness of the meat, 2) the amount of moisture in the meat, and 3) how thoroughly the meat is cooked, this is a fair estimate as to an average.

So your 4 ounces of meat if cooked will probably weigh 3 ounces or slightly more if cooked medium to well done.
