How much does it cost to change my phone (Verizon)?

I have a phone but im in the middle of my plan and i CANT STAND the phone i have. how much would it cost to get that phone cancelled and keep my number for this phone on my family plan. I dont know what the right word is but i want to change the services from my current phone to a new phone thats like $50.
