how much does an iPhone cost?

look past my age.. please. I'm 14 and i turn 15 in sept. I'm not allowed to have a phone until I'm old enough to pay for it. Ok, So I have an iPod touch that I love to death. the only thing it doesn't do, is call people. (I can text people, when internet is available) anyways, I was wondering how much I would have to save up to get one. these are just future plans, nothing soon. Thanks a lot.

Well without a contract the iphone will cost $499 for the basic model. With a contract it will cost you $99. Then in addition it will cost you the price of the plan which start at $40 for 2 years. Then this is unavoidable you must get a $30 data plan. So for two years of service with the iphone it will cost you $1,780. Without the contract you have no service and you can activate it or replace a phone this will cost you $499.
