Our daughter is getting married soon at 25, we're not sure if the groom and the bride have paid off their education loans, and we want to sponsor\ contribute to their wedding. However, as nicely suggested, we would like to offer it as an early wedding present in form a cheque, that they probably won't refuse.
But frankly, i have no idea how much a wedding costs these days, i read that an extravagant wedding would easily be $100,000 in NY. So how much would a wedding be in a smaller town ?
Is $10,000 - $20,000 too much? Too less?
