How Much Does A SIM Card Cost?

Mine just crapped out. I think I've used the thing for nearly 3 years in several phones and all of a sudden my SK3 won't recognize it (saying I need a SIM card to use network services. I tried logging into my SK acct on a SK2 and got the same thing). I tried the same card in my Pearl which gave the message INITIALIZATION failed (I can only get texts on this phone, no data but a failed initialization was enough info for me to know it didn't work) and SK2 said no card was even in the phone. How much is a SIM card if I let T-Mo know what's going on?

On a good note, I won't be losing any contacts, etc because all of that is backed up on my PC thanks to T-Mo's web portal which will dump all of it back on the phone when I get the SIM card. Gotta forward my emails to another address or will those be saved on the portal also?

go to a retailer for your carrier, ask for a replacement sim, prices aint high.. if your lucky you'll get it for free.. but some carriers charge aprox 10-20$ for this (in norway atleast)

I got one for free from t-mo in utah. just show then what its doing and they will switch your number and info to the new card

they will swap it once a year for free if you ask. Call 611 from another TMO or call them by their 800 number and tell what happen, they can send you a free one. what they might do is bill you then credit you. You need to ask, or just go in to a TMO owned store, not one of the mall stores. Good luck.

I have had SIMs changed a number of times, for my BB as well as for prior phones, usually as a suggestion by the store when there was a problem with the device, and there was never any issue of payment -- the matter never even came up.

So maybe you only have to pay if you go and bug them and bug them some more and make them want to get rid of you

Call Customer Care. They'll send you the SIM free, most you'd have to pay is for shipping. If you go into a store they cost $15 to $25 .

~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~ sorry to hear your sim card isn't working. You should be able to get a new one though. Let us no how it turns out.

Got it in store FREE and my phone works again. Thanks everyone.

@ Jeffallen...they switched my number to the new card and as soon as it was activated I got flooded with PS emails LOL

On a sidenote, I picked up a Moto H680 for $80 after taxes.

Good job! You cant' go wrong with free! They charged me $15 when I got mine replaced last summer, and I know AT&T charges $25... guess Tmo found more leverage against the network that gives service kansalabamissouri

Had to bring this thread out of the dirt AGAIN due to THIS thread http://blackberryforums.rabroad.com/showthread.php?t=74647

3 SIM cards in 7 months LOL

just FYI to T-Mobile users. SIM card replacements are usually 20$ but usually given for free at the retail stores, it's usually at the representatives discretion.

You can also call customer service and they can put a credit of 20$ on your account if you had to pay for one.
