"Ducati 900SS/CR/SP/FE, 1994+
Ducati's sales figures and reputation were both growing when the 900SS CR and SP were introduced in 1994. The CR was basically a very slightly downgraded version of the former 900SS. The carbon fibre was replaced with plastic, the aluminum swingarm was replaced by a steel unit, it was given a half fairing, and some adjustability was taken away from the suspension components. As a result of these changes, Ducati could charge $2000 less than the previous version. The SP version, on the other side of the coin, was a limited edition 'top-of-the-line' model, that had a full fairing, and a number of the weight reducing bits the CR lacked. Later, the 'FE', or 'Final Edition' was introduced. This model had some styling changes, with the option of a full or half fairing, and minor updates.
Power in 1997 (SP) was 70bhp@6750, with torque of 55.5ft/lbs@6500rpm. Dry weight was 421lb's."
