How much does a defendant's remorse affect a judge's sentencing?

I don't think the judge is suppost to affected by it, but if he sincerly apologizes, it might sway the virdict, but only if its like 50/50. Like in debait if its a tie and you go to shake the other teams hand and the judge sees it she might sway the vote for you being polite.
 
The judge may accept your remorse but it doesn't make any difference in the sentencing. *
