Cats don't seem to me like they're looking at themselves a whole lot when they're grooming, do they? I mean they don't sit in front of mirrors so you don't think sight plays a huge part in their grooming process, right? Or I never did. I guess I never really thought about it until I had a blind cat. Well she's filthy and now I know that YES, sight plays a HUGE part in their grooming process.... It's not just something they do automatically or by instinct or touch, unfortunately. It's by what they see. Ha, and, unfortunately, my cat can't see a thing!
Thank you Everycat. That's what I was trying to find out. She did just get a clean bill of health at the vet about two months ago but that was before I noticed this whole grooming issue so I think it's time to take her back.
