...the market? What if the media wrote more positive headlines? You can tip the article in a positive way by just shifting focus.

Instead of 'stocks to plummet on financial worries' one might, instead, write 'another finance forecast off mark'. It would get people to think and *gasp* read the article instead of panic and not take the time to read because they're too busy selling their holdings.
It's not just Yahoo! readers. There have been doomsday criers all over the financial realm from day 1 after the fallout.
 
I wouldn't encourage them to lie to us but sometimes a dip can be a good time to invest so for an investor it might actually be a positive headline.
Overall it looks like we're coming out of the recession anyways so that is good. I predicted last year we should be back on track by this September so hang in there my friend.
