They are reasonably priced. You need to figure a training course for rider saftey in the expenses. The 600 is the smallest Moto I would consider for average use.
Also you are better off buying a Demo or a slightly used Motorcycle from a dealer who can warranty it and provide training. An older moto can be a saftey and maintainence nightmare so avoid that if you are new to the sport.
