I had engine guards put on my new fatboy lo, never had on any of my others,I hoe there as good as they say, supposed to be easier picking up a dropped bike too, so I've been told anyway, hopefully I won't have to find that out though!

I have looked my WG over a bit and a thought that if i crashed i might crack a case, in a crash has crossed my mind, and putting engine guards on it also crossed my mind. i think if i put some on that was just big enough to do the job wouldnt look to bad, provided they was blacked out. i know im in the wrong forum, but I was interested in the topic regardless.

It was a few years back at that pull over in front of Mt Rushmore.
A couple was waiting for their friends heading back towards Keystone.
They attempted to cross over and catch them....they lost their balance and tipped the dresser on the engine guards.
We all watched them slide down the blacktop for about 200 feet.
I was one that helped them up....no damage to the bike.
Just some scuffs on the right side engine guards.
That sold me!!!

Removed my rear ones from my RK Classic for a cleaner look and passenger leg comfort. Tip over a couple of times and no damage to the bags.
