How many recent college grads expected that?

You all had such high hopes for a better life for yourselves. You saw yourselves graduating from college and going on to have those great high paying careers you worked so hard for. Instead we ran into a huge road block known as a recession. Life sucks huh?

I know it does. It gets worse when you can't get a job because you have a degree but no work experience. What's up with that crap? I'm not just talking about some experience either. I'm talking about years and years of work experience employers want you to have quickly after graduation, which is exactly what they want and no exceptions either. Volunteer work does not get it for these folks and even internships require some years work experience too, which to me is just retarded. I know I tried both and they both rejected me over and over again. Now that is messed up when a person cannot even get a job working for free only to learn the ropes of getting a permanent paying job.

How on earth is a person suppose to already have years work experience to get a job that is suppose to train you to get that work experience?

I mean that is so senseless and defeats the purpose of being TRAINED!! to do a job. Oh well there goes my accounting degree down the toilet. Now my family is trying to brainwash me into taking any old job, which I hate by the way just for the sake of a paycheck to barely get by. I dreamed of having nice things I can afford to buy thanks to my degree related job. But that won't happen.

We made a huge sacrifice into bettering ourselves with a degree only to still work at some crappy job making way less money than the job you would have had related to your degree.

I can't take this anymore. Is the recession over with yet?
