so im going to buy a sony a300, and i need to buy a memory card with it, so how many pictures could i take with a compact flash?
its a 10.4 mp DSLR btw.

Well that depends on what size it is 1gb 2gb 4gb 8gb 16gb. I shoot RAW files with a 2gb card and I can usually get a couple hundred or so depending on ISO settings and such. Unless you are a really heavy shooter 4gb should be fine especially with jpeg. You may want to get a 4gb with a 2gb as a backup.
