I got the yellow light which was a waste of a 600$ system, and refused to pay for them to repair because my friend had them repair twice because it happened to him twice.
ok A- i've had my system for 4 years, and i did take care of it, cleaning the vents clear of dust the way sony recommended, and i have also only put in 1 hour on it every 2 days
B- its happening to everyone, and when you warranty is out, they do repair it but they charge you 178 bucks, not 50 (dumb*** who said 50)
C- they did this on purpose, seeing how the sony service guy told me this on the phone and agreed with sony being cheap
D- the yellow light happens while your ps3 is on, and it just shuts it off, (screen goes black) blinks green, then yellow, then blinks red over and over ( for the guy who asked how it happens)
all of you will eventually get the yellow light, ( if you have the fat ps3 )
for the guy who asked how it happens, if you're ps3 is like litterally blowing out air and making noise, its most likely gonna happen,
