I am talking non CVT auto tranny. They are supposed to fail by 150k, based on what I am reading online. What has been your experience? Does anybody have an 02 Civic EX auto with over 150k and no tranny problems? Mine has 97k, and I am nervous that it could fail!
The problem seems to be with 2001-2005 transmissions. Seems the torque converter is the main source of the problem. Apparently a bunch of debris get clogged in the fluid filter, and cause total failure of tranny. That is my understanding of it. I just want to see if anybody is getting what they should out of a car like this, or if it is going to fail at some point before 200k. The 2001 is supposed to be the year with the most problems, according to carcomplaints.com
