How many Miles can a '00 Honda Civic drive?

How many Miles can a 2000 Honda Civic drive before problems start to occur?


Bonus Question : If i was to add a cold air intake to it and headers how many horsepower will the civic gain?
 
depends on the owner i have a 1999 civic and no major problems yet, im a 155,000 miles.

ill let you know when my car breaks,
*cough cough* 30 years later........probably.

small hp gain with intake maybe like 5-10hp, and headers maybe total of 20 more than stock i would guess.
 
Not much. In order to add horsepower, you need to change the whole air intake system... ie. cam head(s) and intake. You'll still get smoked by a real car. If you want something fast, then you need a v8. The more cubes you have, the more torque and horsepower you can get. Don't waste your money.
 
One civic owned by a granny that drives it gently, and gets her mechanic who is also her church elder to look it over regularly may last 250K miles or more.

Another civic that has been passed among several owners, who kept poor maintenance records and didn't replace fluids until red lights lit up on the dashboard, this may be lucky to make it 80k miles.

With regard to the "cold air intake" that will give you temporarily +5-10% power in fair weather, and may lose more than that permanently if you drive it in the rain. How about cold acid-rain direct induction into your motor?

And headers it sorta depends if your ECU needs an O2 sensor that is integrated in exhaust manifold, and does your new header substitute for this correctly? Or do you make a modification that results in a car that won't pass smog inspection, and has just become useless for anything but off-highway.
 
The civic will go 100k miles before needing a tuneup and timing belt. You shouldn't have any problems until then.
