How many hours a day would I have to exercise to have the weight fall off me?

Like people who train for things like triathlons or the Kokoda track, they actually have to eat more calories just to keep the weight on and then even then i have seen people lose weight while eating masses amounts of food.

What kind of extreme exercise do you think they do to achieve this?

I really want to exercise a lot because it lets out tension for me and I really want to lose weight.
I know the really healthy way would be to go for a run for like a hour a day and eat healthy but I need more. I know I will probably get burned out but I really don't think I'd stop doing it this time. I am really motivated. Even if it is too much exercise for a normal person I still want to give it a shot.

Please help with suggestions.
