How many good Christians believe in creation but also in evolution?

I mean, an initial creation, billions of years ago, and then the beginning of evolution.

And how many believe the world and the first man were created several thousand years ago?

Thanks

Christians do believe in evolution. They believe it starts with dirt & ends with man, they just forget about all the steps in between.

A majority of Christians have no problem with what science tells us about the universe. It is only those that cling to an ultra-literal interpretation that deny that evolution happened and that the earth is billions of years old.

None. Christianity's founder referred to the Genesis account of creation when he quoted Gen. 2:24. At Matt. 19:5, Jesus said: "This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one." (Matt. 19:5) When were Adam and Eve joined? After they were created by God, not after they evolved into humans from some lower form of life.

I am a committed Christian and I believe that the creation story of Genesis is absolutely consistent with evolution as long as you do not try to limit a Biblical day to 24 hours.
