So, I ended the life of my boyfriend's aggressive murdering catfish while he was at work tonight without telling him. ( I didn't actually kill him, I brought him down to the catfish lake here on the farm and threw him in, the tank was way too small for him anyway ) I want small fish, like guppies. My boyfriend says his tank is 10 gallons, but I had a 10 gallon tank and I know his is about twice the size.
I'm debating between some guppies, platys, or mollies, and some ghost shrimp because they are so cute.
I had 5 ghost shrimp with 2 pink kissing gouramis and 3 tetras before, in my experience it is the fish that eat the shrimp, not the other way around. I made a cave out of rocks in my tank though just big enough for the shrimp to hide under.
I've had bad experience keeping live plants alive... even in aquariums, either they die or the fish eat them, I just use air stones and do water changes daily which I know cold water adds more oxygen.
