I want to keep some fancy goldfish, The fish i have seen are fairly small, about 4ish inches. The tank has a filter & a Light... I am new to fish keeping.

we were told 14 fish in a 48litre tank...that was guppies!

It just depends on what kind of fish you want and how big you want them to grow. If you have the tank overcrowded then they don't grow as much. I would say if you want ciclids in there, 5-10 would be ideal. Just make sure they are all the same type of ciclids or they'll most likely fight.

A betta fish. Maybe 2 guppies... ya. But don't put the beta fish and the guppies together. Either one or the other.
